our story

Sort of. But not really, actually. Farm Burger is defined by its mission, its farms, its team, and its family. In 2008 our cofounders: Jason Mann (an organic farmer + rancher) and George Frangos (a hospitality veteran) gathered around a single idea: redefine the burger by bringing together a community of ranchers, farmers, chefs, restaurateurs and eaters.

IT’S JUST A BURGER JOINT, RIGHT?

Why we say
grassfed +
grass finished.

OUR COWS ARE GRASSFED
+ GRASS FINISHED, RAISED ON THE SWEET GRASSES OF THE SOUTHEAST, AND NEVER FED ANTIBIOTICS, HORMONES, OR GRAIN.

In this day of misinformation, many restaurants and beef producers claim to be grassfed, but then finish their cattle on grain, be it organic grain on the farm or an industrial feedlot.  Technically all cattle eat grass early in their lives, since there is not a legal definition of grassfed these grain fed producers are not lying by saying grassfed, but it is not in the spirit of the term.  The clearest way to define cattle that is 100% grassfed is to call it grassfed and grass finished, meaning it has only eaten grass its entire life.

your neighborhood grassfed burger joint

Until a century ago, almost everything that everyone ate everywhere on earth was organic, free-range, and locally-grown. It wasn't special or high end, it was just food. Farm Burger’s hope is to help achieve that norm again, and make everyday food genuinely “good food”: connecting people to each other, to their community, and to their right to eat and live well.

We’re the burger joint entrenched in the community that you frequent at least once a week. We support the little league baseball team, we’re in the high school yearbooks, we host the dine-outs for the high school robotics club. We offer the local farmer’s bounty, the local brewery drafts. We’re the spot our guests support because we provide great offerings at a fair, even impulsive price with an inviting atmosphere and neighborhood service. A real value.
